Zoeann Finzi-Adams Ph.D. graduated from Florida International University with her BA in Philosophy and Masters in Counseling Psychology. She went on to obtain her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Howard University and her APA accredited internship at Texas Womans’ University. Dr. Finzi-Adams is deeply passionate about the lived experienced of Black women including the impact of group-based stressors (e.g. colorism, racism, sexism), disparities (e.g. obesity, maternal health outcomes) as well as the unique strengths and resiliency factors. Dr. Finzi-Adams is committed to addressing these issues by way of accessibility to therapy, specifically through the creation of her private practice focused on women of color as well as through her research initiatives. Her current research agenda includes Black maternal health and high functioning anxiety and depression among Black women.

Dr. Finzi-Adams' research has explored the impact of group based stressors (e.g. colorism, racism, sexism, weight based stigma) on the mental health and coping strategies used by Black women.
Dr. Finzi-Adams frequently presents and facilitates diversity training, particularly as it relates to the provision of mental health services.
