Biography

Yesenia Espinal, Associate Vice President of Data Analytics, was born in the Dominican Republic and is a native of Brooklyn, New York. Her previous stops include Director of Institutional Research at Howard, data manager of talent strategy with the New York City Department of Education and work as a senior institutional research analyst at St. Joseph's University, New York. Yesenia has a strong professional background in higher education, currently serving on the Association of Institutional Research Nominations and Elections Committee. She is passionate about data and student success and often uses data analytics to improve business processes and inform decision making. Recently, Yesenia supported Howard University's Workday ERP transformation by leading the reporting and data validation workstreams. She has extensive knowledge in managing the data collection and reporting needs of an institution and is well versed in serving its stakeholders. Yesenia prides herself in being a mentor, upskilling and training future data leaders while supporting the University by building a robust data warehouse in Microsoft Azure. Yesenia proudly holds a reputation for being accurate, consistent, and reliable.
