Biography
Timea M. Webster currently serves as the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at Howard University. In this role she provides expertise and support to the Bison community in reaching its development goals by centering the interest of alumni. Timea provides comprehensive programming utilizing persistence and retention best practices to create a system of structure and support for Howard alumni as they matriculate. Her portfolio includes creating and broadening alumni programs and leads the planning and execution of alumni homecoming events, HU Global Day of Service, Bison Bridge-Mentoring Program and supporting the schools and colleges in developing meaningful alumni engagement opportunity.
Timea previously held roles at the University of Alaska Anchorage building coalitions among African American and Native Alaskan women and the University of Maryland where she has served as a facilitator and instructor in countless courses focused on race, gender, and religion and spirituality in for-credit courses, allowing students to explore their identities through social, cultural, and historical lenses. She invites a consciousness perspective to her work that invites people into “head & heart” conversations aimed at undoing systemic oppression.
