Biography
Dr. Anderson received her Doctor of Health Education degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences. For her dissertation, she investigated stroke awareness among African American women in faith-based organizations. Dr. Anderson is an avid proponent for the development of community-based health programming for the underserved. As such, she has designed several community based programs to address essential life skills (occupational) training needs in various communities. These programs have proven to be beneficial, and also serve as service-based learning opportunities for occupational therapy students.
As a proud undergraduate alumni of Howard University, Dr. Anderson is passionate about the mission of the university and values the opportunity to educate future occupational therapy practitioners.
Research interests – health disparities research, PCORI research, cultural competence in clinical education research, community-based participatory research.
