Biography

Sonja N. Woods is the University Historian of Moorland-Spingarn Research Center (MSRC) at Howard University as of September 2025.  Ms. Woods came to Howard University to pursue her PhD in African History in 2010, redirected her career objectives from the academy to archives, and accepted the position as Archivist at MSRC in March 2016.  She earned her BA in English Literature (1995) and her MA in history (2009) at North Carolina Central University.
