Biography

Simeon K. Adesina completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Howard University after obtaining the B. Pharm. (Distinction) and M.Sc. (Pharmaceutics) degrees from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Nigeria. He has published several articles in peer reviewed journals and has several abstracts and conference proceedings. He has been granted a patent and also has one patent submission. His research interests include nanotechnology for drug delivery applications (with bias for cancers and HIV), design and development of stimuli-sensitive polymers for fabrication of drug delivery systems, development of dendrimer delivery systems, design and development of targeted delivery systems via synthesis and development of drug-targeting ligand conjugates. He is also interested in concurrent and sequential active targeting to tumors to achieve improved therapeutic efficacy and reduction in side-effects.  He is a registered pharmacist in Maryland.
