Shomari is the Executive Director of Strategy Deployment and Business Transformation of the Office of Institutional Accreditation and Assessment within the Office of the Provost. He is also a Faculty member in the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences. Shomari has 16+ years experience in Industrial Engineering, Operational Excellence, Lean Innovation, Six Sigma (DMAIC), Strategy Deployment and Process Improvement. He completed his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering, his Masters in Business Administration and is Lean and Six Sigma certified. He has successfully managed multiple, large scale improvement projects within the Transportation, Warehouse, Food Manufacturing and HealthCare industries. Shomari has worked for Fortune 500 companies such as UPS, Nestle, Peapod and Inova Health System.Shomari currently scopes University opportunities and defines strategic improvement approaches. Evaluating the magnitude and complexity of system-wide and core-process improvement projects to recommend sustainable solutions, with less deviation and standard work that produces the best possible experience for every Howard stakeholder. Moving forward Howard University’s mission by engaging in strategically focused efforts and continuous improvement helps bring us closer to being leaders, locally and globally.
