Biography
Sheryl Neverson, Ph.D., LICSW, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical Social Worker with more than 25 years of experience in the behavioral health. Dr. Neverson earned her Ph.D. in Social Work from Howard University, Masters of Social Work from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She currently serves as Vice President for Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas, Maryland Programs. A professional truly dedicated to her industry, she serves as a leader, therapist, educator, advocate and motivator. Dr. Sheryl is licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland and is a certified Social Work supervisor in Maryland. Dedicated to ensuring the growth of the profession, Dr. Sheryl serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at Howard University in Washington, DC. Dr. Sheryl specializes in trauma focused care where she recognizes how traumatic experience impacts our mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Dr. Sheryl is also a mother, sister, and caretaker who grew up in Prince George’s County Maryland. She is a passionate advocate for social justice and eliminating behavioral health disparities for underserved communities.
