Biography
Sarah Ingle got her Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from the University of Virginia in 2014. Her research is in American Studies, with a particular focus on African American and 19th-century American literature. Before coming to Howard University in 2022, she taught at Loyola University Maryland and at the University of Virginia. She has many years of experience teaching first-year writing courses as well as a variety of literature and American Studies courses on topics such as African American literature, race and crime in American literature, race and performance, detective fiction, Baltimore writers, and American gothic literature.
