Biography

Sabrina Altema, PT, DPT., Dr. Altema is a clinical assistant professor and director of clinical education at Howard University's Department of Physical Therapy. She is an orthopedic-certified specialist with over 15 years of clinical and managerial experience. She has a passion for service and serves on several professional and community organizations, including the executive board of the Comprehensive Medical Mentoring Program and the American Physical Therapy Association DC Chapter Education Committee. She is pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with scholarly interests in evidence-based instructional methods and strategies for improving the experiences of underrepresented minority students within physical therapy education.
