Biography

Rafique Anderson is an adjunct professor of Business Law in the Department of Accounting.  Professor Anderson received a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Master of Laws, with Highest Honors, from George Washington University School of Law.   Also, Professor Anderson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science/Pre-law from Michigan State University, as well as a Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law.  Professor Anderson is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and the State of Massachusetts.Professor Anderson is currently serving as a Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice, Civil Division, Commercial Litigation Branch where he is responsible for conducting trial and appellate litigation before the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit involving, among other legal areas, contract claims, procurement protests, constitutional claims, and pay claims.Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Professor Anderson served as Senior Counsel at the United States Capitol Police where he advised management, including the Chief of Police, on all matters involving labor and employment law before the United States Congress, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, and the Federal Circuit.  Professor Anderson has held other executive management and legal roles including serving as a Special Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Director of Equal Employment Opportunity Complaints/Senior Legal Counsel at the Social Security Administration, as well as the Legal Advisor and Chief of the Mariner Personnel Branch for the United States Coast Guard.
