With over 10 years of experience in higher education, I am a passionate and innovative educational leader who strives to promote excellence, equity, and empowerment for students and faculty. As the Director of General Education at Howard University, I oversee the implementation and evaluation of the general education curriculum, ensuring that it meets the academic standards and learning outcomes of Howard University. I also collaborate with various stakeholders, such as associate provosts, deans, faculty, and staff, to provide academic support and student success, training professional development, curriculum design, and assessment support.
I also serve as the Advisor for the Howard University Undergraduate Research Journal, "Ukweli", where I support and showcase undergraduate students' research and scholarly work from various disciplines.
As the Founder of iDissertate, a unit of the Urban Education Equity Project, I provide academic coaching and mentoring for prospective and current doctoral students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. I help them navigate the challenges and opportunities of pursuing and completing a doctoral degree, and guide them through the process of developing and writing their dissertations.
I have an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Howard University, and I am currently pursuing a Master's in Applied Data Science and Analytics, which enhances my skills and knowledge in using data to inform decision-making and improve educational outcomes. I have also published several books and articles on topics related to urban education, leadership, and policy. I am committed to advancing the mission and vision of Howard University and contributing to the field of education with my expertise, experience, and enthusiasm.
