Patrice Wright (She/Her)

Biography

Patrice Wright is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at Howard University. A medical sociologist,  her research broadly explores inequality in healthcare delivery and experience. Her most recent research project, funded by an American Sociological Association’s Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant, explores how race, class, and emotion shape Black women’s experiences of maternal healthcare. She is currently working on a book manuscript based on this research.

Dr. Wright Earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Virginia, an M.A.T. from Marian University Indianapolis, and a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish language from Purdue University.
