Biography

Professor Horne brings a blend of industry experience and academic expertise to the classroom, having honed her skills at prominent media outlets such as E! News in Los Angeles and WTTG FOX 5 in DC. With a background deeply rooted in television and documentary filmmaking, she specializes in media studies, communication, and English composition.

Her previous academic role was at the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez where she focused on integrating filmmaking into the English composition classroom. She was honored as the keynote speaker, presenting her research at the 41st Western Chapter of the PRTESOL Conference in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

Professor Horne holds her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), and a Master's degree in English education from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. 

She currently teaches freshman English at Howard University.
