Biography

Dr. Miguelina Zapata is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders where she also received her PhD. Dr. Zapata is a licensed and nationally certified bilingual speech-language pathologist with numerous years of experience working with early intervention and school-aged children. Dr. Zapata has attended and presented at numerous conferences at both the state and national levels. Her research interests include auditory processing disorders in bilingual children, cultural-linguistic diversity, non-biased assessment in bilingual children, and assessment and treatment in bilingual children.
