Biography

A native of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Puente earned her B.A. in Spanish and Italian from Middlebury College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from The Catholic University of America. Her academic interests include 20th Century Italian and Latin American literatures with a focus on the Caribbean, history of the language, translation, bilingualism, second language acquisition and language acquisition for Spanish heritage learners.
