Biography

Dr. Lu Qin serves as the Principal Data Scientist of Data Analytics for the Office of the Chief Operating Officer at Howard University. She leads the data science team dedicated to providing futuristic data science products and visualization solutions. She has extensive knowledge in boosting student success by delivering innovative and cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning to the University. As a seasoned statistician, Machine Learning researcher, practitioner, and educator, Lu is also an active contributor to the Open Source Software community. She has been involved in numerous research publications, grants, and educational assessments for over 10 years. 

Lu earned her Ph.D. in Research, Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics from the University of Kansas. She remains enthusiastic about making impactful contributions to various facets of data-related challenges in higher education.
