Biography
A recent graduate of Howard University '24, Minister Leah J. Burgess, MDiv, MSW is the Admissions Recruitment and Retention Coordinator at Howard University School of Divinity, where she supports students in their journey to lead with head and heart.
Previously, Min. Leah was the chaplain at Takoma Academy Seventh-day Adventist High School for 4.5 years. Additionally, Min. Burgess has extensive experience and expertise in working with survivors and victims of sexual violence, and has held positions at the DC Rape Crisis Center, Dartmouth College, and the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence.
Min. Leah earned her Bachelor of Arts at William Paterson University of New Jersey, Master of Divinity and Master of Social Work at Howard University and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Wesley Theological Seminary.
