Biography

Larissa Joseph honorably serves as Coordinator of Dance at the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts. She is committed to furthering the university’s legacy of service to underrepresented populations, particularly talented Black artists. Her mission at the nation’s only Historically Black College & University with a college of Fine Arts, is to amplify the vibrant BFA Dance Program that prepares students to thrive in the competitive dance and entertainment industry through the richness of African diasporic culture. As a former member of Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and a Gaynor Minden sponsored freelance artist who appears in publications such as Pointe Magazine and the New York Times, and has performed for commercial, television and film, Professor Joseph understands that creating safe and encouraging spaces for young dancers to explore their artistic abilities within the pre-professional trajectory towards performance careers is essential to post graduate success. Standing shoulder to shoulder with the esteemed faculty of distinguished and seasoned professionals, we enjoy nothing more than bringing our energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Dance Arts Program, dutifully inspiring a lifelong passion for the Arts in our students.
