Justin Wilson, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Justin Wilson received his Ph.D. from Howard University College of Medicine in the area of Physiology and Biophysics, where he studied the kidney’s role during chronic hypertension (Dr. Dexter L. Lee’s Lab). For his postdoctoral training, he joined Dr. Mark Knepper’s Lab at the National Institutes of Health National Heart Lung and Blood Institute, where he worked on understanding the phosphorylation of phospho-petides of vasopressin’s signaling and auquaporins of the rat inner medullary collecting ducts cells. Dr. Wilson first faculty appointment was at Hampton University as a professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. Dr. Wilson continued to explore the renal mechanisms of chronic diseases. Dr. Wilson later served as a Director of the Ronald McNair Scholars program at Cleveland State, where he helped pre-doctoral students enter graduate programs. Also, Dr. Wilson served as a science editor and director in test development and curricula development for large, standardized exams across the US and other countries. Dr. Wilson served as faculty for a pharmacy and physician assistant programs at Xavier University of New Orleans, in New Orleans, LA. Currently, he serves as a lecturer at Howard University. He enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing musical instruments.
