Jamille Fields Allsbrook ( She/Her)

Biography

Professor Jamille Fields Allsbrook joined the Howard University School of Law in the Fall of 2025. She started her full-time academic career at Saint Louis University School of Law in the Center for Health Law Studies. Previously, she was an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law and a clinical fellow at the Harvard Center for Health Law and Policy Innovation. 

Before joining the academy, Professor Allsbrook held legal and policy positions in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and in various nonprofit organizations including the Center for American Progress, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, and the National Health Law Program. She continues to be an active advocate as a Senior Fellow with the National Partnership for Women and Families, and as a volunteer board member with If/When/How and SisterSong. 

Relatedly, Professor Allsbrook research and scholarship centers on advancing health equity for women, people of color, and people with low incomes. Professor Allsbrook’s scholarship has been published in the Lewis and Clark Law Review, the Drexel Law Review and the Loyola Annals of Health Law and Life Sciences. She has also had legal and policy commentary published in Health Affairs Forefront, Essence Magazine, The Hill, and Stat News, among other publications. Professor Allsbrook has also made media appearances or been quoted in numerous outlets including MS Now’s Morning Joe, Telemundo, Fortune Magazine, Newsweek, Modern Healthcare, USA Today, Ms. Magazine, Al Jazeera and the St. Lous Post-Dispatch.

Professor Allsbrook earned her dual Juris Doctor and Master’s in Public Health from St. Louis University School of Law and College of Public Health and Social Justice. She received a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri - Columbia.
