Biography

Present research in my laboratory is two-fold.  A major interest centers on the effects of short-term levonorgestrel and methoxychlor exposure on the viability, reproduction, locomotion and mating behaviors of selected invertebrate and telostean species.  We are interested in those parameters of aquatic and terrestrial toxicity which serve as reliable and sensitive endpoints for ecotoxicology testing.  These studies are being conducted in collaboration with Dr. Tyler Frankel, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Mary Washington.  In addition, we are continuing our ongoing studies on the mating behaviors of fishes in the teleost family Poeciliidae.
