Dr. Gal Levy comes to Howard University by way of Texas where she held a practice of both Cardiac and thoracic / foregut surgery. She is adept at coronary artery bypass surgery as well as valve repair/ replacement surgery and has a passion for robotic minimally invasive surgery. She takes pride in working with residents and medical students to shape and mold the physicians and surgeons of the future. As an active member of Women in Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Levy has mentored many women medical students and residents who went on to find successful careers in cardiac and thoracic surgery. In addition, she has great success with minimally invasive esophageal surgery for patients with chest pain from large hiatal hernias and severe GERD. Her specialty niche also brings chest wall reconstruction from trauma to ribs and sternum where she provides surgical relief to chest pain. She brings her unique surgical experience to Howard University to build and develop a complete Cardiothoracic surgical experience for our patient population.
