Biography
Dr. Banks earned her PhD in Adult Learning and Human Resources from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech); MEd in Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, and BS degree in Occupational Therapy from Howard University. She is a registered and license occupational therapist with specialization in adult physical disabilities, neurodevelopmental treatment, acute care, and health disparities. She is also a graduate of the Association for the Schools of Allied Health Professions Allied Health Collation Leadership Program, and is the former Chief Editor of the Journal of the National Society of Allied Heath. Dr. Banks presents with extensive experience in the area of curriculum development, accreditation, leadership, diversity, and global health initiatives. She has received over 2 million dollars in HRSA funding, and is the recipient of the Roster of Fellows (FAOTA) from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
