Biography

Emily M. Cramer, PhD, examines strategic affordances of new media in healthcare with a focus on reducing health disparities, addressing information needs, and closing communication gaps. A preeclampsia survivor, Emily is interested in improving communication around hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, conditions disproportionately impacting Black women. With 10 years' industry experience in PR at a nationally recognized hospice and palliative care organization, Cramer is also the faculty advisor for the university's D. Parke Gibson Chapter of PRSSA, becoming the largest HBCU chapter in the U.S. under her leadership.
