Denee Thomas Mwendwa

Biography

Dr. Mwendwa is a Professor in the Department of Psychology. She is also the P.I. of the Health Promotion and Risk Reduction Research Center. Her work focuses on the biopsychosocial and ecological factors that influence cardiovascular and neurocognitive outcomes in African Americans. The hallmark of her approach to spiritual, psychological and physical health is to recognized and embrace the unique experiences of people to promote overall wellness. Dr. Mwendwa is an alumna of Howard University, having received her PhD in the area of clinical psychology.
