Deja Cousley

Biography

TSgt Cousley's career in the Air Force Reserves has been dynamic and multifaceted. Let's expand on her journey. TSgt Cousley joined the Air Force Reserves in December 2012 after completing her bachelor’s degree in Human Relations with a minor in Education from Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC. She successfully completed Basic Military Training (BMT) at Lackland Air Force Base and then pursued technical training at Keesler Air Force Base, specializing in Knowledge Operations Management. TSgt Cousley's initial duty base was at the 911th Airlift Wing in Pittsburgh, PA. She was then selected for a prestigious opportunity to work at The Pentagon for four years. Initially, she was assigned to the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF), where she strategically led and supported the CSAF Focus Area 1 Core Team. In this role, she served as the lead cyber/admin personnel for operations not only at The Pentagon, but also in various locations including Hawaii, South Korea, California, Florida, Texas, and Georgia. Following her tenure with the CSAF, TSgt Cousley transitioned to work with the Office of Air Force Reserve. Here, she provided support to Reserve, Active, and Civilian personnel, overseeing numerous commander’s programs. Additionally, she was granted the opportunity to work with the Office of Assistant Secretary of Defense, Legislative Affairs within the Pentagon. In this capacity, she supported Congress, Capitol Hill, and White House Affairs, showcasing her breadth of experience and expertise in various domains within the military and government. TSgt Cousley's career progression highlights her versatility, leadership abilities, and commitment to serving in roles of increasing responsibility within the Air Force Reserves.
