Biography

Danita Y. Allen served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman providing medical and nursing assistance to military members and veterans, specializing as an Advanced Medical Laboratory Technician educated in alliance with the George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences and the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md. currently known as the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  Her special interest in medical training, education, and development led her to pursue assignments in teaching support for various clinical skills and interpersonal communication from venipuncture, pathology and laboratory services, BLS CPR/ATLS, epidemiology, and HIV & AIDS Awareness.  After medical retirement, Mrs. Allen continues her service currently as the Standardized Patient Educator for Howard University Health Sciences Simulation and Clinical Skills Center as well as serving in support of medical & nursing education throughout the Mid-Atlantic Consortium Schools as a Standardized Patient  or Patient Instructor for health science projects from social sciences, surgery, and Family Medical Health to Nursing and other Allied Health Sciences.
