Chelsea Smith

Biography

Dr. Smith is the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program. She has been a board-certified physician assistant practicing since 2015 and is a graduate of the Howard University PA Program class of 2014. She continued her education and went on to earn a Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at Touro College. Dr. Smith is a recent graduate of Rocky Mountain University’s Doctoral Program for PAs with a concentration in health care administration and leadership.

As a clinician, Dr. Smith-Barnes provides quality and compassionate care to a with traumatic brain and spine injuries as neurosurgical PA. She has extensive clinical experience and is proficient in procedural skills, medical therapies, diagnostics, and precepting medical and PA students.

Since the beginning of her career, she has been passionate about improving health care delivery to the underserved community and has a strong passion for teaching. When she is not serving the community, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, traveling, and cooking.
