Charrosé King-Mathews, PhD, is a designer, writer, researcher, and educator. Her research is focused on media representation of autistic Black femmes. She is a senior lecturer at the Howard University Cathy Hughes School of Communications in the Communications Studies department. She is a graphic designer and communications specialist with work experience in public education, international development, mental health, and higher ed.
Dr. King-Mathews earned a bachelor's degree from Parsons School of Design in Communication Design and a master's degree from Georgetown University in Public Relations and Corporate Communications. She earned a PhD in Communication, Culture, and Media Studies at Howard University’s Cathy Hughes School of Communications. Her dissertation is a film analysis and autoethnography in relation to the representation of autistic Black femmes in TV and movies.
