Caron Strong, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, CDE Assistant ProfessorHoward University, College of Nursing and Allied Health SciencesNursing Graduate Program Dr. Caron Strong is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Howard University College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Graduate Nursing Program. Dr. Strong is also a Family Nurse Practitioner with clinical experience in family practice. Prior to advanced practice, Dr. Strong worked as a pediatric nurse for 13 years.Dr. Strong received a nursing diploma in Jamaica and continued her nursing education at Howard University for both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Her doctoral degree is from University of Portland, in Portland Oregon.Dr. Strong has conducted and published research on Depression in the Primary Care Setting. Her academic interests are online teaching, using technology in the classroom and flipped learning. Her clinical interests are in chronic disease management including diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, anxiety and depression. She is also a certified diabetes educator.
