As Director of Media Relations, Carol is responsible for advancing Howard's reputation through media engagement.
With over 20 years of experience in media relations, Carol has served as Assistant Vice President for Communications and Media Relations for American University, and prior to that, Press Director for the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Earlier in her career, Carol coordinated marketing and outreach efforts throughout the Midwest for the Peace Corps’ Chicago Regional Recruiting Office. She was a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Eastern Caribbean from 1995–1997, where she consulted nonprofit organizations and government agencies on media strategies on the island of Nevis. Carol received her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Rutgers University and her Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Hampton University. She currently serves as a board member and DEI Co-Chair for the North Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Communications and Public Relations Co-Chair for the Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
