Biography

Carol McFarland is the Director of Development for University Strategic Initiatives on the Institutional Giving Team, which falls under the purview of Howard University Office of Development & Alumni Relations. Additionally, she works closely with Dr. Ben Vinson III, president of Howard University, and SVP David P. Bennett, on transformative gifts and key University priorities as a member of the principal giving team. 

Carol is a highly experienced development executive, most recently serving as the Senior Development Officer for the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota and Vice President of Communications and External Relations for the Minnesota Autism Center. Prior to her foundation and nonprofit work, she spent two decades in various leadership roles in education. She has significant fundraising, communications, and strategic planning expertise.
