Biography
Dr. Carlas McCauley serves as Associate Professor in the Education Leadership and Policy Studies Department and Associate Dean for Research and Sponsored Programs. Dr. McCauley teaches courses on education policy, school finance and financial management. Dr. McCauley research explores how marginalized groups come to be marginalized through education policy and how the existing distribution of wealth and capital are reinforced through policy. His work seeks to examine inequities in education through multiple perspectives including school finance, resource allocation, federal policy and school improvement. Dr. McCauley has served as a Principal Investigator across multiple grants totaling over $10 million. He has led a federally funded national research center and a university led research center supported with both federal and private funding. McCauley earned his BA at St. Louis University, his MS in education policy from the University of Southern California and his EdD in leadership and policy from the University of Southern California.
