As a microbiology laboratory with a research interest in applied and environmental microbiology, specifically the characterization of foodborne and environmental microorganisms, and their natural products. My laboratory has interdisciplinary research collaboration with the departments of Chemistry, Civil and Environmental Engineering; and the UnitedStates Food and Drug Administration. Through these and previous efforts, we have published over 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and ever thirty- five presentations in various scientific meetings. The peer-reviewed publications are categorized below in two major research areas: Food Microbiology and Microbial Natural Products; others include bacterial pathogenesis and undergraduate research education.
