Biography

Britta Redwood is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Howard University Law School, where she directs the Movement Lawyering Clinic, which focuses on securing reparations for historical injustices. She also serves as the Interim Director for the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center during the Spring 2024 semester.

 

She previously taught at New York University Law School. She is also the Interim Director of the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center. Prior to teaching, she worked at the International Crimes and Accountability program at the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights and as a legal adviser to the Strategic Litigation Project at the Atlantic Council, specializing in work related to international human rights and international criminal law. She began her legal career as a litigation associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York. Britta Redwood holds a juris doctor from Yale Law School and a B.A. in philosophy from Princeton University.
