Biography

Dr Brian Laurence has examined clinical outcomes associated with sickle cell disease and dental health, studied the associations between oral and systemic health and examined depression and systemic health using hospital admission as a marker for worsening overall health. He has also developed inter-professional approaches to evidence-based dental education. He has calibrated dental examiners for the diagnosis of dental caries, organized, collected and analyzed data for case-control studies and performed statistical analyses utilizing large publicly available datasets. His most recent focus includes food insecurity, adolescent health and the use of zero-inflated models for the analysis of dental caries data.
