Biography

Angel Nkwain is a Program Coordinator at the Georgetown–Howard Universities Center for Clinical and Translational Science (GHUCCTS) and a Research Coordinator within the Developmental Neuropsychopharmacology Laboratory and the AI/ML Laboratory for Mental Health and Addiction. She supports the coordination and advancement of clinical and translational research projects, as well as basic science research projects with a focus on improving health outcomes for underserved communities.

At GHUCCTS, Angel serves as the primary point of contact for the Pilot Translational and Clinical Studies Program, overseeing multiple pilot projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and tracking study progress throughout the funding period. In the AI/ML Laboratory for Mental Health and Addiction, she leads trainings on the All of Us Research Program, guiding researchers in the use of the Researcher Workbench, workflows, and analytical tools to support diverse research questions. Her research interests include the intersection of HIV and opioid use disorder, with an emphasis on how genetic factors interact with social and environmental factors of health to influence risk.
