Biography

Interior Designer for 27 years as Allied Member ASID for the Washington/Metro Chapter (#37). Educated in Washington,D.C. Metro area with Bachelor of Science Degree in Interior Design at Howard University (1989-1992) and Master’s of Fine Arts Degree at Marymount University (2003-2006).

An experienced Interior Design professional and Educator. Former government employee for the years 1994-1995 for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and contract employee for several architectural firms. The area of specialty is Government/ Institutional Design and Corporate Offices. The projects included Federal sites, Corporate and Healthcare facilities.  The designer is experienced AUTO-CAD Operator with eighteen years of knowledge and skills using Autodesk software for various projects. This includes software programs such as AUTO-CAD, Revit Architecture, AUTO-CAD Architecture, Autodesk VIZ and Microstations V8.  As educator, she has taught students in using Autodesk software at three Junior Colleges as Adjunct Professor and Professor for Interior Design Department.    Project experience in managing office moves, space planning, and visiting area sites for survey, construction documentation, working with GSA vendors and working with contractors. 

Focused on continuing educational training in LEED Green Associate and Project Management.  Served as a volunteer for Neighborhood Design Center (of Prince George’s County) which helps in the development of existing buildings , revitalization of neighborhoods in Prince George’s County and educational programs for students at Maryland University in sponsored Charettes.  Current Adjunct Faculty for Interior Design Department at Howard University and former Alumni.
