Biography

Karen Ljunggren began her career as a Medical Radiographer then Radiation Therapist. She is ARRT certified in Diagnostic Radiography, Radiation Therapy and Computed Tomography. She hs worked as a staff level health care provider, supervisor, Manager, Administrative Director. Program Director and Director of Operations in the field of Radiation Therapy. She came to Howard University in 2018.

Radiation Therapy Clinical Theory I, II, III, IV, V, and VI

Clinical Theory I include an extensive overview of the program and clinical policies, procedures and expectations in preparation for the clinical practicum.Clinical Theory II through VI are a continuation of sequential assignments at radiation oncology affiliations to fulfil clinical requirements. These courses foster the development of future radiation therapists. Sequential clinical practice begins with orientation progresses to participation, and completes wiith mastery-level competence. Clinical Practicum is delivered at affiliate Radiation Therapy Departments located within the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Problem Solving

Continuation of clinical radiation therapy content that is designed to address issues related to the scope and practice of radiation therapists.

Problem Seminar and Lab

Designed to provide a comprehensive review for seniors in preparation to take the national board examination and problem solve various situations that may encounter during entry-level employment.
