Biography
As a broadcast journalist, Bremante Bryant has spent three decades as a news and sports reporter, anchor and host--covering stories as diverse as political elections, soldiers returning home from war to professional and collegiate sports. He currently serves as a reporter/anchor/host with WHUR, 96.3 FM and an on-air contributor at WHUT-TV in Washington, DC.
Bremante was on the air in the summer of 2020 providing live coverage as law enforcement cleared protestors from Lafayette Square near the White House, paving a way for President Trump to walk through the square for a photo-op outside historic St. John’s Church.
He formally served as host of the public affairs program This Just In on WDCW-TV in DC. He's worked as a reporter/anchor and host at numerous stations along the East Coast--including WTOP radio in Washington, DC, and regional sports television networks in Buffalo, NY and New York City. He's also served as a general assignment reporter at several local television stations. A native of the Washington metropolitan area, Bremante began his career in the distinguished reporter-trainee program at WUSA-TV in Washington, DC.
In the summer of 2022, Bremante was part of team honored by the National Association of Black Journalists with a Salute to Excellence Award for a special report on the policing of the black community. Besides a love of journalism, he is passionate about history, having taught classes in African American and American history at Prince George’s Community College.
Bremante is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, Organization of American Historians, Phi Alpha Theta national history honor society and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He's also served on the Board of Governors for the National Capital/Chesapeake Bay chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
In addition to being a devotee of current events and history, Bremante loves watching professional football (NFL), enjoys reading biographies, watching documentaries, listening to music, traveling, sporting activities and butter pecan ice cream.
