Biography

Miki Reed has been a full-time lecturer of Japanese in the Department of World Languages and Cultures at Howard University since 2024. She received her MA in East Asian Languages and Literatures from The Ohio State University. With over 20 years of experience, she has taught Japanese at diverse institutions, including a community college, two state universities, and a private liberal arts college. Her professional interests include Japanese language pedagogy, curriculum design, material development for reading and writing, and oral proficiency. She is a native Japanese speaker from Fukuoka, Japan.
