Biography

Dr. Michael Hudson-Vassell is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Howard University. His research examines how under-recognized forms of human capital—including social networks, identity-based access constraints, and informal entrepreneurial capabilities—shape firm strategy, innovation, financing, and access to capital. His work draws on novel measures of social capital, matched datasets, and rigorous empirical methods to examine how financial systems can identify and mobilize sources of value that are often overlooked.
