Biography

Dr. Keyana Scales is senior vice president, enrollment management and student success. In this role she is responsible for leading and managing strategic university initiatives that support the realization of student outcomes. This includes cultivating a data-informed, student-centered approach to guide learners from inquiry to graduation. 

With significant professional experience in the areas of admissions, recruitment, scholarship and financial aid leveraging, and student success program design and implementation, Dr. Scales brings extensive subject matter expertise related to long-range strategic enrollment planning and overall student success.  She has held professional appointments at a variety of universities including large public, Research 1, public land-grant, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and private faith-based institutions. She has also held national and regional leadership positions within several professional organizations, including the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) and its regional affiliates in both Minnesota and the southern region; the College Board; the Association for Graduate Enrollment Management; and the Educational Advisory Board.  

A graduate of the Institute for Education Management from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education, Dr. Scales frequently presents at regional and national meetings on issues related to strategic enrollment planning, student success, staff development, and the future of enrollment management. She is passionate about college access for traditionally underserved populations and is committed to the personal and professional development and success of enrollment professionals. Dr. Scales has earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from North Carolina State University and a doctoral degree from The Johns Hopkins University.
