Jillian Barker Langford serves as the Program Assistant for the Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center at Howard University, where she provides programmatic, administrative, and operational support in furtherance of the Center’s mission to promote international affairs education, global engagement, and leadership development. In this role, she supports initiatives that expand access to international education opportunities and enhance the academic and professional experiences of students pursuing global careers.

Jillian brings over a decade of experience in higher education, international education, and student affairs. Her professional background includes roles at institutions such as New York University and Garrett‑Evangelical Theological Seminary, where she supported student services, program coordination, advising, event planning, and cross‑departmental initiatives. Her work has consistently centered on student engagement, inclusive programming, and strengthening access to educational and global learning opportunities.

In addition to her work in higher education, Jillian has experience supporting nonprofit organizations through program administration and fundraising efforts, with responsibilities including research, reporting, database management, and stakeholder communication. She is recognized for her strengths in organization, communication, collaboration, and supporting mission‑driven work.

She holds a Master of Arts in International Education from New York University and a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Georgia State University. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from North Park University and holds a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Human Resources certificate from Cornell University (eCornell).

In her free time, Jillian enjoys traveling, visiting museums and art galleries, sightseeing, exploring new restaurants and cuisines, watching television and films, reading, learning new skills, working out, and spending quality time with family and friends. Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Jillian now resides in Maryland with her husband and daughter.
