I am an experienced advocate and case manager specializing in intimate partner violence (IPV) and domestic violence (DV), with a background spanning legal, prosecutorial, and campus-based settings. I previously worked at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, where I supported case preparation and survivor-centered legal processes. In that role, I gained direct exposure to the complexities of prosecuting DV cases and collaborated closely with attorneys, law enforcement, and survivors.
I have since expanded my expertise through roles focused on crisis intervention, safety planning, and systems navigation, including my work as an ERPO Liaison and Advocate with My Covenant Place. In that role, I assisted survivors in obtaining protective orders and accessing critical community-based resources.
In my current role as an IVPP Specialist and Case Manager at Howard University, I provide trauma-informed support to students impacted by violence, coordinate with Title IX and campus partners, and advocate for academic, safety, and wellness accommodations. My work is grounded in a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach, with a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration and ensuring institutional accountability in responses to violence.
I have specialized experience in sexual assault and Special Victims Unit (SVU) work, which I primarily developed during my time at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. In that role, I supported case preparation involving sexual violence, worked closely with prosecutors, and assisted in managing sensitive, survivor-centered cases. This experience gave me a strong understanding of the legal complexities of SVU cases, including evidence handling, victim interviews, and the importance of building cases that prioritize both accountability and survivor wellbeing.
Through this work, I developed a trauma-informed approach to engaging with survivors of sexual assault, recognizing the nuances of memory, disclosure, and the emotional impact of navigating the legal system. I also gained experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including law enforcement, forensic professionals, and victim advocates.
In my current role, I apply this foundation by supporting students impacted by sexual violence, ensuring they are informed of their rights, connected to resources, and supported through institutional processes. I continue to center survivor autonomy, safety, and dignity while advocating for appropriate institutional responses.
