Biography

Daniel is an investigative correspondent for The Emancipator, a newspaper housed at Howard University.

He is a 2026 Chauncey Bailey Investigative Reporting Fellow for Investigative Reporters and Editors. 

An award-winning journalist, Daniel has been noted for his multifaceted approach and punchy writing style. He's made a particular specialty of deep enterprise coverage of the human impact of the education system and economic inequality. His work has appeared in The Guardian, USA Today, The Christian Science Monitor, Investopedia, Tennessee Lookout, The Daily Yonder and The 19th, among other publications.

He's also conducted research used to track the platform economy, as well as the vaping, cannabis, gene editing, and gambling industries.
